The two dominant sects among the Jews at the time of Christ were the Sadducees and the Pharisees. Although both of these believed in the Divine inspiration of the Scriptures, they both refused to believe that Jesus was the Messiah.
In a recent BBC News report, it says, that there are many alleging Christians who believe that “Resurrection did not happen.” And there were much more many that say, those people are not Christians.
Christians aside from being believers should transform to being disciples doing what Christ Jesus has taught us. The Christ is not only our Savior but Lord to obey. We should be disciples making disciples. “One shall become a thousand” (Isaiah 60:22).
The crucifixion of Jesus is one of ancient history’s most proven events with ‘facts’ substantiated both by historians and theologians alike, written without hyperbole.
Jesus the Christ, like Napolelon Bonaparte and Confucious, is a historical person. History books attest to this even our calendar datings. Written in my Theology & Missions Diploma is (In the year of the Lord Christ Jesus June, 15, 2004 AD means 2004 years had passed from the time of Jesus’ birth). BC in the calendar means Before Christ.
The uniqueness of Christ is that all the founders of the religions in the world lived and died. Only Jesus Christ rose from the dead. It shows that only He has the power to overcome death and the power to give us life. Even before Jesus was put to death by crucifixion, He rightly predicted that He will rise again three days after He died (John 2:19-22). It shows that He was (and is) in full control of history. His healing miracles during His lifetime and yes, His resurrection from the dead. What more do we need to believe Jesus is really God!
